The Cost of Your Loft Conversion

Pay for your loft conversion with the proceeds of spread betting

Converting a loft into an extra living space can be a great way to increase the value of and the amount of room in your home, but it can require quite a substantial initial investment. Saving up for it by putting a bit of money away each month is perhaps the most reliable way of funding such a move, but it can take a long time. One way to speed up this process is to invest in the stock market, but in the current climate, stocks and shares are just as likely to fall in value as they are to rise. Also, investing in the stock market usually requires a high level of initial investment.

There is, however, a way in which you can capitalise on the flagging fortunes of stocks, shares, currencies, and entire market indices, without having to actually own any shares or stocks. Financial spread betting is essentially a form of gambling, except that instead of betting on sports events or cards, you bet on the future performances of shares, stocks, markets, or currencies. So if you thought the Dow Jones index was set to fall in value, you would place a bet against it. If the Dow Jones then went on to rise in value, you would get your initial stake back minus the percentage that it rose by. However, if you were to be proved right, and the Dow Jones were to fall in value, you would receive your initial stake plus a percentage return in line with the amount that it fell by.

As you are not dealing directly in the stock market, you do not need to be a stockbroker or use one as an intermediary in order to engage in financial spread betting. All you need is a computer with internet access and proof that you are old enough to be gambling. Simply visit a spread betting site such as Trade Fair, follow the on screen instructions to register with them, and you could be up and going that same day. Spread betting, if it is to be profitable, requires a large amount of skill, experience, knowledge, and most importantly, luck. Therefore, you should never gamble what you cannot afford to lose, and you should learn as much as you can about the financial markets before you start making bets.
